This is a great item but confusing in the beginning there is little or no customer support basically this item is plug and play using the ip address and password on the bottom of the unit. i also found out that you must have a wired connection to a modem to set up the 3G feature it is also worth it to use the install disk in the box i would recommend this to anyone who needs a travel modem I don't no if it works with apple products but it works well with XBOX live.

Netgear 3G Mobile Broadband Router (Black) Review

This replaces an older Netgear wireless router at my house. The setup was easy and worked the first try. It identified and connected to my Verizon usb727 mobile broadband card without problem. Now all my equipment has internet access.
Note that the included usb cable seems to be required for the broadband card to work. Plugging the card directly into the router powered the card, but the router reported that no usb device was plugged in.

Cradlepoint CTR-350 Cellular Travel Router (Black) Review

Cradlepoint CTR-350 Cellular Travel Router (Black)

The CTR350 is a great little Mobile Broadband/Wifi router. It's designed to use a mobile broadband data device (I'm using Sprints U595), and provide access to it via Wifi. It worked right out of the box in a default configuration, though you probably want to enable security after testing it out, or else everyone will have access to it.
Set-up is via the usual web-browser interface, and this devices interface is laid out pretty well. It struck me as being more sensible than most of the Linksys/Netgear devices I've used. Its got a nice full featured firewall, various WEP and WPA authentication modes, and can be used as a wired access point too (there's an Ethernet port). Apparently the port can also be used to provide wired access to the mobile data device too, but I haven't tested that yet.
The router is not battery powered (see the PHS300 for that). It comes with a standard ac power adapter. There is also a dc power adapter available for use in a car. I've mounted mine in my car, and hardwired a cable for it into the wiring harness of the car so that I can have internet in my vehicle wherever I have Sprint service. Cool!

Zoom 3G WiFi Router Review

Zoom 3G WiFi Router

The Zoom 3G Wireless Router Model 4501 for USB Modems (identified here at Amazon as 11N 3Ghz Wifi Router) ranks right up there with sliced bread and canned beer as a world-class idea. This is a dynamite product at a fair price. But, before I review the router, let me describe the situation it rectified so well.
I live in the boondocks where either high-speed telephone or cable connection to the internet is not an option. My phone lines are buried underground, resulting in connection quality that barely allows 28,800 modem connections on the best days.
This problem was solved when I subscribed to Verizon's mobile broadband service and plugged their Pantech USB modem into my computer. (Verizon was the only supplier with 3G coverage where I live.) Download speed often approaches 3000 kpbs, with 1700-2000 about the norm. I couldn't be happier.
Except for one problem. With the USB modem plugged into my laptop, my wife couldn't use her desktop for internet access. So, I'd log off and give her the modem to plug in so she could log on.
I had seen USB modem routers at Best Buy for about $200. My inconvenience wasn't worth that much. But when I spotted the Model 4501 for about $70, I thought it was worth a try.
To make a long story short, when it arrived I took it out of the box, plugged it in, plugged my USB modem into the back, and turned on my laptop. No setup; I didn't read a word of the instructions. And it worked perfectly. I was on line.
At the time I ordered the router I also purchased a Zoom Wireless 802.11 B/G USB Adapter. (It made sense to keep a family together.) This I installed in my wife's desktop. Just like that, she was on line too. {{http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-802-11B-Adapter-Wifi-Support/dp/B00195HS1O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1265567922&sr=8-3}}
We've been using the USB Modem/WiFi connection for three weeks now. I've never been dropped from the network and there's been no degradation in performance from when the USB modem is plugged directly into the computer. (I check my connect speed regularly with Speed Test at [...]) I've used my Asus laptop and Samsung netbook in my office over my garage, which is more than 100 feet from my house. No problems.
I will set up security one of these days. But since I have no neighbors living within broadcast range of the router, I'm not terribly concerned.
This is a great product at a great price. I couldn't be happier.

D-Link DIR-412 Mobile Wireless Router 3G, 11n-based, 150Mbps
I wanted to use my Apple WiFi iPad (non-3G model) while traveling but since most hotel rooms still require that you use a cat-5 RJ-45 connection for their free internet this was not going to be of much use since the iPad does not have a RJ-45 port. The iPad also does not have a USB port so I couldn't use my Verizon Novatel USB760 3G USB dongle modem that I use with my laptop for those hotels without free internet service. I looked at the wifi hotspot type products but most of those require a 1-2 year contact and can cost up to $40-60 per month for the data service which adds up fast over a 12 month period. This device solves the problem nicely. It can be attached to the hotel cat-5 cable or can accept several different USB 3G modems to create a local wifi hotspot that the iPad or iPod type devices can use as well as my laptop using it's wifi connection. Setup is simple and it worked right out of the box. If you want to set up security so that no one nearby can "share" your hotspot that can be done using the web browser interface common with all routers. Speed tests showed that the wireless speeds were comparable to those of my home wireless router when using my home broadband cable modem as input. Unfortunately my Verizon 3G signal strength where I live is very weak (1-2 bars) so I couldn't get much more than 1 Mbps download speed but I will test this again when I am in a location with decent signal strength. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and will be using it often.
